“The aim of The Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities."
promoting the development of young people

The Method of achieving the aim of The Scout Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.

Scouting’s great strength lies in its grassroots. It is locally that Scouts are best able to identify and work directly with those young people most in need. Scouting offers bridges to a world of social involvement and inclusion through education and activity.

Every Scout Group has a constant need to raise donations in order to support local causes and to enable them to experience all those outdoor pursuits such as abseiling, canoeing, rock climbing, camping etc. which form such a vital part of belonging to The Scout Association. With the Webb Ivory Christmas 2004 catalogue, it’s easier than ever before.

For every £4 you raise through purchases from the catalogue, up to £1 goes direct to your Scout Group. You’ll be surprised how quickly it mounts up to a really useful sum. So just think of all the essential activities, equipment and trips your Group could enjoy through the money you raise.
